Getting Started
This page describes how to get started once you have registered with Splash of wine.
Review a wine
Start by searching for the wine you wish to review. If the wine isn't yet in our database you will find a link at the bottom of the search results for adding it to the site. Please enter the details of the wine accurately so that others can find it easily!
Once you have found the wine, select the "Review" button to open up the review page. Selecting the "Publish" check-box makes your review visible to other users of the site.
Read more reviews by the same author
Every user of Splash of Wine has their own home page which lists their published reviews - a link is provided on each review.
You can aggregate a user's reviews by selecting the "Review Feed" icon on a user's home page.
Wine Lists
All users have an empty Wish List created when they register. 
You can add wines to a list by checking the box next it's name on the wine or review page. Additional wine lists can be created by selecting the "Wine List" link under "My Links".
Rate reviews
On the Full Review page you can rate a review. The top three reviews are shown be default on the wine's front page.
Record a purchase
Start by searching for the wine you have purchased. If the wine isn't yet in our database you will find a link at the bottom of the search results for adding it to the site.
Purchases are kept private - only you will be able to see what you have purchased where. The average price for a wine in a particular country is calculated using this data.
The wine cellar
Every user has an automatically populated wine cellar. This contains every wine that you have reviewed, added to the site or purchased. Your wine cellar is private - only published reviews can be seen by other users.
Embed for review in a blog
If you select the Full Review page for your one of your own reviews, a coloured box at the bottom of the page will show the code required to embed the review in a blog or website. Just copy and paste!
Add Wine Lists to your facebook profile
If you are a facebook user you can add your Splash Of Wine wine lists onto your profile page.
Export your reviews
You can export all of your reviews into a spreadsheet format (CSV) from the "My Reviews" page.
